Baldwin High School in Wailuku was the chosen sight of Albrecht’s 48ft long mural. Based on his “A Perfect Wave” series, this beautiful painting was created to bring together the community, arts in education, and the Maui Ocean Center while providing a vibrant place for students to gather during lunch. Two walls in the student café were strategically chosen as the perfect place for this energetic painting. While this gigantic project was in the planning stages for just under 2 years, the mural was painted in 3 days. The staff and students at Baldwin High were wonderful to work with and very supportive during the project. The Maui Ocean Center visited the mural site on day two and described the project in pictures and words through their Massive Mural blog.
